The fare in 1979 was $2.50TT and at that time maxi-taxis could be found on Broadway, and lower Charlotte and Henry Streets Port of Spain;

The first Maxi Taxi Act was implemented in 1980 however, it was later cancelled and re-enacted in the year 1992. In 1992, the MAXI TAXI ACT, CHAP. 48:53 (“the Act”) and Regulations under the said Act became Law;

On 17th November 1995 the Route 2 maxi-taxis were relocated from the streets of Port of Spain to Transit Centre, City Gate, South Quay, Port of Spain;

The Route Two Maxi Association had its own newsletter titled 'Maxi Update'. The first issue was printed in 1997. The chief editor was Ms. Elu 'Princess' Dillon, Public Relations Officer of the Association.
